The Agency for Assessment and Accreditation of Higher Education (A3ES) is responsible for assessing and accrediting Portuguese higher education institutions and their study programmes.
At this moment Iscte Business School holds 12 accreditations in the following programmes:

Rankings
Financial Times Rankings is a well-known international ranking committee for top business schools worldwide. It evaluates business programmes and schools and lists the best management programmes available.
Seven rankings are published annually, relating to MBAs, EMBAs, Masters in Finance, Masters in Management, Online MBAs, and non-degree executive programmes.
There is also another annual ranking, published at the end of each year, which evaluates European business schools.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings is an annual publication of university rankings written by Times Higher Education (THE) magazine.
The results of the Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject 2021 were recently released. In the Business & Economics category, Iscte registered a considerable rise in its overall position, which improved both nationally and internationally (even with the increase in the number of participating universities). This increase also occurred in the other evaluated dimensions (Citations, Relevance for Industry, Internationalization, Research and Teaching), when compared with the previous year. This ranking includes 729 Universities from all over the world, which is an increase from the 632 institutions considered in the previous year.

QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) evaluates the performance of higher education institutions. Each year it draws up a list of the best universities worldwide, analysing 51 scientific areas, grouped into 5 major subject areas.
This ranking was compiled based on several performance and quality indicators, such as academic reputation, reputation among employers and scientific production.
It was in 2019 that Iscte entered the QS World Univeristy Rankings by Subject, one of the most prestigious international rankings of Higher Education, continuing to ensure its position among the 350 best universities in the world in the area of Business and Management Studies.

SCImago (SIR) is a research-focused academic ranking that combines three sets of indicators based on:
research performance (50%);
innovation outputs (30%);
social impact (20%).
These indicators are measured through the visibility of the institution on the web and in the Scopus database.
In 2021, among 7522 institutions worldwide, Iscte was ranked 715th in the global ranking and 516th in the ranking of universities, occupying top positions among Portuguese universities in the various areas in which it teaches and develops research, with a special emphasis on Management, where it is in second place nationally.

Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects is published by ShanghaiRanking Consultancy. These indicators include measures on research quality, international collaboration, high scientific quality research and academic recognitions.
In 2021, three areas of Iscte Business School (Business Management, Management and Hospitality, and Tourism Management) improved their position in the overall ranking when compared to the previous year. The area of Hospitality Management and Tourism reached the first position in the national ranking.

University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) collects data from 3000 universities worldwide in order to draw up a performance ranking. This ranking covers around 12% of all higher education institutions worldwide.
URAP bases its ratings on data obtained through open sources.
In 2020, Iscte ranked 1450th worldwide (in a total of 3000 universities). In that year, the area of Economics reached 313th place worldwide. Commerce, Management, Tourism and Services reached 259th, and Management 166th, representing an increase over the previous year.

The Network of International Business and Economics Schools (NIBES) is one of the world's first active networks of business and economics universities. It was founded with the aim of promoting the internationalisation of its members, as well as a greater understanding of the global contexts of management education.
In the last decades, NIBES has successfully established many bachelor and master programmes in partnership format (as double or joint degrees). Within this framework, transnational and multilateral mobility of students and lecturers between the member institutions has been one of the main objectives of this cooperation.
